Morning Tea with Alumni from North California - July 31, 2004
Kaibo Huang and his wife are visiting Toronto this week from North California. Kaibo graduated from the Foreign Language Department of SYSU in 1987 and moved to US in 1992. He is the current vice-chair of SYSU Alumni Association of North California. (Details on http://nc.zhongda.org/webs/ncal/chinese/index.php) We will have a tea gathering to welcome Kaibo and his wife on July 31, 2004 Saturday Morning at Golden Regency Restaurant. This is also a good opportunity for alumni in Toronto to chat with alumni in the US to get first hand information. Welcome to join us. The gathering will start at 10:00 AM. The restaurant locates at second floor of the Pacific Mall.

Important Notice: SYSU 80th Anniversary Celebration - November 11-13, 2004
We have received the official bulletin for this grand event. (Details on http://sysu.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?t=109) We will organize a delegation to join the grand celebration of SYSU's 80th anniversary. The accomodation in Guangzhou from Nov. 11 to Nov. 13 for any member of the delegation will be paid by SYSU. Since the list of members of the delegation will be sent to SYSU by the end of July 30, please contact Tuen Yui Wong at (905)277-5683 at your earliest time if you want to join the team. As the bulletin informed, the university welcomes all kinds of donation. We had a quick meeting to discuss about this donation in the last Morning Tea. Our target is RMB$20,000, which includes special contribution of CAD$1000 from the SYSU Toronto Alumni Association. The other portion comes from our individual donations. Please contact contact@sysu.ca or any directors if you want to contribute. You can also make the donation in any of our coming events.

MEMBER SERVICES

2004 Membership Fee
The 2004 membership fee ($10/member/year) is due now. Please show your support of our alumni organization and pay the annual membership fee. The membership fee is important to support our on-going expenses. With our transparent management, you will be very clear on where we are spending and who are contributing. Member vs. Non-member Registered Alumni
We welcome all Zhongshan related students, professors and former staffs to join us. People whoever registered online or through paper form became our Non-member Registered Alumni. The registered alumni became our Member after paying annual membership fee and information being verified by our membership committee. If a member failed to pay annual membership fee in two consecutive years, his/her membership status will be changed back to non-member alumni.
